Event

We are hosting a RegenWA Farmer field walk at Tom Mitchell’s property in West Gingin to see firsthand the system implemented in his market garden and citrus orchard. He terms it as an 8 year degree of continuous learning in soil biology.

We will hear from Tom about how he and his wife Emma run their farm regeneratively, and what practices they implement. These include green manures, compost teas, multi-species cover crops, soil moisture monitoring and much more.

Tom Mitchell – Tom farms 20 hectares North West of Gingin with his wife, Emma and two daughters. In 2012 they transitioned the business to take a more biological / regenerative approach across their farm. Their enterprise is comprised of a market garden where they grow pumpkins in the summer and mixed cover crops in the winter and a lime and mandarin orchard.

Tom recently joined us for a webinar which you can watch here it is a great introduction to what you can see on farm on the farm field day. He was also awarded a Soil Health Champion Award, catch his video here.

Make sure you register to be apart of the conversation, ask questions, and enjoy an afternoon with fellow farmers.

This RegenWA Farmer Field Day is designed to improve the knowledge of RegenWA members and Western Australian farmers through peer-to-peer discussion. It is an opportunity to ask questions and see firsthand how regenerative agriculture systems are working on farm.
