Carbon Farming – How to get started

Workshop 1.

Please register now for this webinar, presented by Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development in collaboration with Perth NRM and RegenWA.

Carbon farming is the active sequestration of carbon in the soil or vegetation on agricultural land to generate verified carbon credits that can offset the farm’s emissions, or with a view to entering the carbon trading market.

Topics will include an overview of registering projects with the Clean Energy Regulator, opportunities within the Carbon Farming and Land Restoration Program, and planning considerations for soil and revegetation projects, including how they fit within longer-term business plans.

The content and presenters will be: (approx. 20 mins per presentation plus question time)

  • Catherine Turnbull – Senior Policy Officer, Low Carbon Futures. Sol project planning overview; Understanding the methodology; Land Management Strategy Soil.
  • Carla Swift – Senior Business Development Officer, Low Carbon Futures. Vegetation project planning overview. Project planning – Planning considerations and business fit; Working with carbon service providers/consultants; Accessing good advice.
