Dr Richard George: The Threat to the West Australian Agricultural Sector from Dryland Salinity

Geoffrey Craggs interviewed Dr. Richard George on the current standing of Dryland Salinity, a major concern for Western Australian’s. Half the affected land resides in WA, accounting for approximately two million hectares of non-irrigated farmland, four million hectares Australia wide. As a result of poor current and historic land use techniques, along with high cost and low success rate of reversion techniques, salinity remains a major concern, and further investment is crucial to the health of our land.
